Hop Delivery: Pitch Deck and Fundraising Strategy for FoodTech

Hop Delivery is transforming the delivery ecosystem with its innovative business model that benefits both carriers (hoppers) and partners (restaurants, stores). This disruptive SaaS platform enhances the delivery experience, leading to improved service quality and satisfaction for all stakeholders. In 2018, Hop Delivery acquired Eatzer, the first food delivery platform in Geneva, establishing itself as a leader in the industry.

Situation

The founding team of Hop Delivery approached us to create a compelling pitch deck for their Series Seed fundraising. After achieving several key milestones during and after the pandemic, they were well-positioned for this funding round. In addition to developing the pitch deck, they sought guidance on fundraising strategy and pitch simulation.

Actions

• Pitch Deck Creation: We guided the team through a clear process. We started with an onboarding call to explain how we work. Then, we conducted a survey to cover key areas like the problem, vision, product, business model, traction, market size, milestones, team, and funding ask. After reviewing their existing materials, we created a draft deck and discussed it in a workshop. The team did some homework to improve it further. Finally, our designers made a polished pitch deck with strong content and good design.

• Fundraising Strategy: We helped the team set their fundraising goals, including how much to raise and whether to use SAFE or equity. We identified the best investors to target and created a step-by-step outreach plan, starting with lower-priority investors to practice.

• Pitch Simulation: We ran a 60-minute session where the startup did a practice pitch for 15-30 minutes, followed by questions and feedback.

Results

We provided a strong pitch deck, a detailed fundraising strategy, and a realistic pitch simulation. While we didn't handle the outreach, we learned that the Hop Delivery team successfully secured several angel investors and their first institutional fund.
